Neiman Marcus will close its downtown Dallas flagship store, Saks Global confirmed Tuesday.
The landmark department store , which has been open for over a century, will close on Sept. 30. Saks Global acquired Neiman Marcus in 2024 but filed for Chapter 11 earlier this year. Neiman Marcus plans to focus resources on its second Dallas NorthPark store, located outside of the downtown area.
Saks Global is on track to exit bankruptcy by the end of June but in the process has laid off 16 percent of its workforce. Since filing for bankruptcy in January, Saks Global closed 18 Saks Fifth Avenue stores and three Neiman Marcus stores, in addition to shuttering a majority of its off-price outlets.
“We are committed to serving our loyal Dallas customers at NorthPark, where we plan to infuse elements celebrating the downtown store’s rich history,” Saks said in a statement.
