Marco De Vincenzo Exits Etro

The creative director’s departure after four years was a decision of ‘mutual agreement’ according to the Italian label.

Etro creative director Marco De Vincenzo is exiting the brand after four years in the role, the Italian fashion house said on Thursday, describing the move as a decision of “mutual agreement.”

No successor was announced.

The departure is the latest in a wave of change in creative direction across the luxury sector over the past two years as brands seek new design direction to pull out of a prolonged slump.

De Vincenzo, a veteran accessories designer with decades of experience at Fendi, joined Etro in 2022 with a broad remit. Recruited by owner L Catterton to rejuvenate the brand, he oversaw men’s, women’s and homeware collections, the purview of which was previously split between members of the founding family.

De Vincenzo leaned on the house’s boho roots for his last collection in Milan in February, showing patterned dresses and suit jackets.

The brand referred to his tenure as a “meaningful phase of growth and stylistic renewal” but said his departure was aligned with “a new strategic phase” for the label.

L Catterton became majority owner of Etro in 2021, joined in 2025 by a group of investors led by Rams Global including Mathias Facchini and Giulio Gallazzi, who took the founding family’s minority stake.
