Teyana Taylor is an American actor, director and performer who has established herself as a leading red carpet muse, wearing a hooded Tom Ford gown designed by Haider Ackermann to the Met Gala in May 2026 and an embellished sheer Chanel gown to the Oscars in March 2026.
Born in 1990 and raised in Harlem, New York City, Taylor drew directly on her neighbourhood upbringing to develop her streetwear-meets-couture aesthetic. She entered the entertainment industry at age 15, choreographing the music video for Beyoncé's single Ring the Alarm in 2006, before signing a recording contract with Pharrell Williams' Star Trak Entertainment label in 2007.
In 2026, she starred in Alaïa's Summer/Autumn global advertising campaign. She wore custom Schiaparelli to the Time Women of the Year Gala and a custom backless Thom Browne tweed ensemble at the 2023 Met Gala. Taylor designed the A Rose From Harlem Air Jordan 1 capsule with Nike in 2023, followed by the Air Jordan 3 Concrete Rose release in June 2025.
