Simbarashe Cha is a style photographer and visual columnist for The New York Times. He began contributing to the publication in 2020 and joined the full-time staff in 2023. Through his regular columns "Style Outside" and "Look of the Week", he documents international street style and runway attendees across Milan, Tokyo and New York.

Born in Los Angeles, Cha began photographing portraits in New York City with a smartphone camera in 2010 before acquiring his first dedicated camera in 2011. In 2012, he established the street style and fashion portrait blog Lord Ashbury, which earned him invitations to photograph runway collections within a year of its launch.

Carolina Herrera enlisted Cha as house photographer in 2014. He expanded into filmmaking with promotional campaigns for Saks Fifth Avenue in 2017. He went on to produce editorial and commercial shoots for brands including Chanel, Gucci and Ralph Lauren, and his work has appeared in publications such as GQ, Harper's Bazaar and W Magazine. In 2023, he photographed and authored a feature documenting street style and local designers across Dakar.

In 2022, Cha won a New York Emmy Award as a director and editor for a short film on Black surfers at Rockaway Beach.
