Olivier Bron
Chief Executive, Bloomingdale's
The French executive has delivered record results at the American department store chain in a tumultuous luxury retail market.

Olivier Bron is the chief executive of American department store chain Bloomingdale's. Under his "Dream Big" turnaround strategy, he steered the retailer to its highest annual sales in company history, reaching approximately $4 billion in 2025 and delivering five consecutive quarters of growth. Between 2025 and 2026, Bron repositioned the retailer's assortment by introducing luxury and designer brands including Phoebe Philo, Bottega Veneta, Jacquemus, Khaite and Chloé across its stores and digital channels.
Bron earned a master's degree in engineering from ECAM Lyon in 2000 and a master's degree in strategic management from HEC Paris in 2002. From 2002 to 2014 he was a principal at Bain & Company, advising retail and luxury goods clients on commercial transformations. He then joined French department store group Galeries Lafayette, serving as director of strategy from 2014 to 2018 and chief operating officer of Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais from 2018 to 2021. Prior to joining Bloomingdale's, he relocated to Thailand to serve as chief executive officer of Central Group's Central and Robinson Department Stores between 2021 and 2023.
Bron was appointed chief executive officer of Bloomingdale's in September 2023, officially taking leadership in November of that year to succeed Tony Spring. Since then, he has initiated comprehensive renovations at 12 major Bloomingdale's locations, including the 59th Street flagship in Manhattan, alongside the continued rollout of the smaller-format Bloomie's concept stores.
Bron expanded his executive portfolio in May 2025 to assume direct oversight of luxury beauty retailer Bluemercury, which, like Bloomingdale’s, is part of Macy's, Inc.
