Marc Jacobs announced Hearst veteran John Wattiker as its new chief marketing officer on Thursday.
The appointment comes a few weeks after brand management company WHP Global and apparel manufacturer G-III acquired Marc Jacobs from LVMH for $925 million through a newly formed joint venture.
Wattiker replaces Kristin Patrick, who has overseen marketing for the brand since 2024. Patrick was behind the brand’s latest cultural initiative, an episodic social media series titled “Question Marc,” which taps fashion’s recent fascination with entertainment.
Wattiker most recently served as vice president of fashion and luxury at Hearst, working across brands including Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Town & Country. Prior to Hearst, Wattiker worked in financial services at JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank.
