Power Moves | Stella Bugbee Appointed The Cut President, Farfetch Names CMO

The Cut names president and editor-in-chief
Stella Bugbee has been promoted to president and editor-in-chief of New York Magazine's The Cut. Previously the platform's editorial director, Bugbee will now oversee the expansion of original video offerings and formulate the strategic direction of the brand, in addition to continuing to guide its editorial voice.

Farfetch appoints CMO
John Veichmanis will succeed Stephanie Horton as chief marketing officer of e-commerce platform Farfetch. Veichmanis, who boasts over 20 years' experience in the tech industry, joined the company in 2015 as senior vice president of digital marketing. He has previously worked at leading companies including Dell, Apple, Skype and Expedia.

Cheap Monday hires creative director
Carl Malmgren has been appointed creative director of Stockholm-based brand Cheap Monday, effective July 1. Recruited internally, Malmgren has been with the company since its inception, and was most recently responsible for the cult brand's denim collection. He succeeds Ann-Sofie Back, who departed the brand earlier this year after seven years.

Tory Sport appoints president
Tory Burch has named Ayub Mohamed as president of its activewear brand Tory Sport, effective immediately. Mohamed joins the company from DKNY, where he was executive vice president of merchandising. He will succeed Robert Isen, Tory Burch's chief legal officer and president of corporate development, who served as Tory Sport's interim president prior to Mohamed's appointment.

J. Crew CEO steps down
Mickey Drexler will step down from his role as chief executive of J. Crew after 14 years at the helm, but will stay on as company chairman. Jim Brett, most recently president of home furnishings company West Elm, is confirmed as his successor; he will begin his role in July.

Thomas Pink names creative director
The LVMH-owned British brand has hired John Ray as its new creative director. Ray previously held a creative directorship at Dunhill, but exited the brand in February 2016. His debut collection for Thomas Pink will be Autumn/Winter 2018.

Diesel names North America CEO
Stefano Rosso, son of Diesel founder Renzo Rosso, has been appointed the Italian company's new North American chief executive. Rosso Jr. first joined Diesel in 2005, climbing the ranks to become its first denim brand manager. Most recently, he served as co-chief executive of Diesel's parent company OTB, which also owns Maison Margiela and Marni.

Clarks appoints CFO
Paul Kenyon has been tapped by footwear retailer Clarks as its new chief financial officer, effective August, 2017. Kenyon, who currently holds the same position at Noman Foods, will replace the company's interim CFO Mike Coley.

Pal Zileri creative director steps down
Mauro Ravizza Krieger is to exit Italian menswear brand Pal Zileri, resigning his creative director role after almost three years at the helm. His final collection for the label will be presented this month in Milan as part of the Spring/Summer 2018 season.
