Ib Kamara, the stylist who has served as Off-White’s creative director since 2022, is parting ways with the brand, the company said in a statement shared with The Business of Fashion.
The exit comes two years after LVMH sold its controlling stake in the luxury streetwear label to brand management firm Bluestar Alliance for an undisclosed sum. No successor has been named and Off-White is not scheduled to stage a show this season.
Kamara joined Off-White at a challenging time for the label, stepping into the shoes of its charismatic founder Virgil Abloh only months after his untimely death.
In hiring Kamara, who had collaborated closely with Abloh at Louis Vuitton, Off-White hoped to restore momentum to what was once one of the fastest growing brands in fashion. But in the seasons that followed, consumer demand for high-end streetwear waned and Abloh ultimately proved irreplaceable, contributing to LVMH’s decision to offload the label.

As Off-White closed key stores, including its New York City flagship and its entire retail network in China, its new owner Bluestar expanded the brand into lower price points, briefly distributing hoodies at Costco for under $100 and launching a more affordable “L/AB c/o Off-White” line.
In March, after Kamara’s final show, Off-White announced a new creative strategy, inviting 10 external collaborators, from Kid Cudi to Luar’s Raul Lopez, to design capsule collections through April 2027. The label remains “open to future collaborations” with Kamara, it said.“We are deeply grateful for Ib’s vision, creativity, and the remarkable energy he brought to Off-White throughout his tenure,” said Bluestar chief executive Joey Gabbay.
“Working at Off-White has been an honour and a profound creative education,” said Kamara. “Off-White is bigger than any one idea, exactly as Virgil intended — a house with genuine values, rooted in culture, community and the belief that fashion can speak to everyone.”
