The Italian model opened Matthieu Blazy's first Chanel couture collection, a watershed moment for age inclusivity in fashion.

Stephanie Cavalli is a model. At age 50, she opened creative director Matthieu Blazy's début haute couture Spring/Summer 2026 show for Chanel in Paris in January 2026, walking with natural grey hair, and returned in March to open his second ready-to-wear collection for the house.
Born in 1976 in Ostia, near Rome, to an Italian father and a Caribbean mother, Cavalli modelled in Italy during her early twenties before relocating to New York City in 2002 to pursue international fashion modelling. She stepped back from modelling around age 38 after facing ageist casting standards that deemed her between youth and mature demographics. In 2016, Cavalli moved to northeastern Pennsylvania and established La Garçonne, a vintage and antique clothing boutique in Callicoon, New York.
Cavalli resumed professional modelling in 2020 by signing with Iconic Focus Models, an agency representing mature talent, choosing to maintain her natural undyed silver hair. She walked runway shows for designer labels including Proenza Schouler, Miu Miu, Rachel Comey and Maria McManus. In July 2026, Cavalli covered Vogue Korea alongside model Bhavitha Mandava. Publications including The New York Times, Harper's Bazaar and Elle highlighted her Chanel runway appearances as a watershed moment for age inclusivity on fashion runways.
