The Tokyo-based designer, who draws influence from tailored Armani suits once favoured by Japanese salarymen, won the LVMH Prize in 2025 and showed a critically-acclaimed collection at Pitti Uomo.
Soshi Otsuki is the founder and creative director of his namesake menswear label Soshiotsuki, winner of the LVMH Prize in 2025. His aesthetic carries influence from Giorgio Armani suits favoured by Japanese salarymen in the 80s and 90s, offering his own interpretation of the relaxed tailoring.
Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1990, Otsuki studied menswear construction at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo while also training at the avant-garde design school Coconogacco. He established his Tokyo-based namesake label in 2015, combining traditional tailoring with conceptual design techniques developed during his studies.
Otsuki expanded his brand's international profile and scaled global wholesale operations through partnerships with Tomorrow Ltd and Ssense. In January 2026, Otsuki served as the official guest designer for Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence where he showed a critically-acclaimed collection. He debuted on the official Paris Fashion Week Men's calendar in June 2026.
Otsuki designed a capsule collection for Zara of styles for men, women and children, dubbed "A Sense of Togetherness" and was awarded the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix in 2019 and the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2024.
