Phan Huy & Steven Doan

Co-Founders, Phan Huy

The duo behind the Ho Chi Minh City-based couture house have brought heritage Vietnamese dressmaking to the global stage, becoming the first Vietnamese brand to present on the official Paris Haute Couture Week calendar.

Phan Huy & Steven Doan

Phan Nguyễn Nguyên Huy and Steven Doan founded Vietnamese couture label Phan Huy in 2023, rapidly gaining global recognition for their contemporary reframing of Vietnamese heritage craft through a couture lens.

As creative director, Huy translates craft like traditional silk weaving and intricate handwork embroidery into sculptural silhouettes, while Doan serves as CEO, overseeing global commercial strategy and positioning to connect the brand's Vietnam atelier with international luxury markets.

The house’s breakthrough moment arrived in January, 2026, when the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) invited Phan Huy to present on the official Paris Haute Couture schedule as a guest member — the first Vietnamese brand to do so. At 26, Huy was the youngest designer to receive the distinction.

The brand’s couture looks have been worn by high-profile figures including Fan Bingbing, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Jhené Aiko. Huy was a valedictorian fashion graduate from the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, while Doan is an alumnus of Central Saint Martins and previously worked as a fashion stylist and editor.
