Kin Chan Coedel
Photographer & Creative Director
With an intimate approach to people, place and craft, the photographer has gained recognition for his culturally grounded fashion imagery across Asia and Europe.

Kin Chan Coedel is a visual artist based between Paris and Shanghai specialising in documentary and fashion photography. Drawing on a background in art and textiles, his humanistic, culturally rooted approach has informed work for titles including the Chinese and other international editions of Vogue, W Magazine, T Magazine and Another as well as luxury houses such as Louis Vuitton, Celine, Burberry, Jil Sander and Loewe. In 2026, Japanese retailer Parco appointed Chan Coedel creative director and photographer for its spring and summer campaigns.
Chan Coedel’s photographic practice moves between fashion and culture, foregrounding portraiture, minority communities and living artisanal traditions. His personal project Dyal Thak, centred on weaving communities, began during a 2021 expedition to the Tibetan Plateau in China. He was named a finalist for the Grand Prix du Jury de la Photographie and won the Prix du Public at the 38th Festival d’Hyères, a significant career milestone that raised his profile within the European fashion industry. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada, Chan Coedel studied fine art, womenswear and textile design before turning to photography. This technical foundation continues to inform his focus on garment texture, drape and structural detail. He is represented globally by Artworld Agency.
