Francesco Milleri
Chairman & Chief Executive, EssilorLuxottica
The chairman and chief executive has been pivotal in turning the eyewear group into a leader in smart glasses.

Francesco Milleri is the chairman and chief executive officer of EssilorLuxottica. Under his leadership, the eyewear conglomerate generated €28.5 billion in annual revenue in 2025 and drove mainstream adoption of wearable technology, with sales of its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses exceeding two million units by early 2025.
Milleri graduated with honours in law from the University of Florence, where he served as an assistant professor of political economy between 1984 and 1986. He earned an MBA from Bocconi University in Milan in 1987 and completed two years of corporate finance specialisation at New York University Stern School of Business. In 1996, he founded an IT and digital automation consultancy, advising multinational corporations before becoming a strategic advisor to Luxottica founder Leonardo Del Vecchio.
At EssilorLuxottica, Milleri oversees a portfolio of owned brands including Ray-Ban, Oakley and Oliver Peoples, alongside luxury licences for Giorgio Armani and Brunello Cucinelli. The group manages a global retail network of more than 18,000 stores, including Sunglass Hut, LensCrafters, GrandVision and Vision Express. In July 2024, the business expanded into apparel, agreeing to acquire streetwear brand Supreme for $1.5 billion. To support the rapid adoption of its wearable technology, the company signed an agreement with Meta in September 2024 extending their smart eyewear partnership into the 2030s, and signalled targets to scale production capacity to 10 million units annually by 2026.
Milleri joined the Luxottica board of directors in 2016 and became co-chief executive in December 2017. In December 2020, he was appointed chief executive of the combined EssilorLuxottica group. Following the death of Del Vecchio in June 2022, he was named chairman of EssilorLuxottica and chairman of Delfin, the controlling holding company of the Del Vecchio empire.
