Dickon Bowden

Global Vice President, Dover Street Market

The retail executive has been at Dover Street Market since its first day, stewarding a buying philosophy that has made it the most consequential store in fashion.

Dickon Bowden

Dickon Bowden is the global vice president of Dover Street Market, directing retail operations and multi-brand strategy across seven international hubs. Bowden executes a buying philosophy that juxtaposes luxury houses like Gucci, Prada and Balenciaga with independent designers, while supporting the Paris Brand Development incubator with labels such as Matières Fécales and Vaquera.

Bowden studied at University College London from 1992 to 1995 before attending the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. In September 2004, he joined Dover Street Market on its founding day, serving as the inaugural general manager for its debut location at 17–18 Dover Street in London's Mayfair.

Rising from general manager, Bowden guided the retailer's commercial expansion. After launching Dover Street Market Ginza in Tokyo in 2012, the business added a 20,000-square-foot New York store on Lexington Avenue in December 2013. The London flagship relocated to a 31,000-square-foot site on Haymarket in March 2016, followed by a 12,325-square-foot Singapore outpost at Dempsey Hill in July 2017. In 2018, the retailer opened in Beijing's Sanlitun North in partnership with I.T in March, and launched a 15,000-square-foot Los Angeles location in November. In May 2024, it opened a 3,500-square-metre flagship at the Hôtel de Coulanges in Paris.

In December 2025, he won the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, alongside co-founders Rei Kawakubo and Joffe, citing their steadfast commitment to providing a global platform for creativity, nonconformity and emerging design talent.
