The fashion media veteran has helped shape China's publishing landscape, championing diverse talent and bringing local brands to a global audience.

Dan Cui is group editor-at-large at Huasheng Media and founder of creative agency Caius. Cui returned to Huasheng in 2026 as the Chinese publisher and Dazed Media announced the launch of Another Magazine China, two years after Another Man China. Huasheng Media’s portfolio also includes the Chinese editions of T Magazine, Wallpaper, and Nylon. Beyond publishing, Cui runs Caius, a creative agency spanning consultancy, content creation and campaigns. Cui’s partners include luxury players LVMH, Kering, Chanel, Hermès and Richemont as well as Chinese brands such as Erdos, Shanghai Tang and Anta. At the latter, he served as brand sustainability consultant, helping drive Anta’s 2025 collaboration with designer Kris Van Assche for Antazero.
Cui began his editorial career at Marie Claire China, rapidly rising to the fashion director position, before serving as fashion director for GQ China and executive editor-in-chief of GQ Style China. At GQ, he launched the GQ Presents initiative to bring Chinese designers including Xander Zhou, Sankuanz and Pronounce to the international fashion week stage in London. Cui was also a co-curator and member of the launch team behind GQ Lab in 2017. He subsequently joined Huasheng Media as partner and was appointed editor-in-chief of T Magazine China in 2018. Before entering publishing, Cui studied stage art design at the Shanghai Drama Academy and fashion design at Esmod in Paris.
