Agenda-setting intelligence, analysis and advice for the global fashion community.
Fashion and sports players in Europe are betting big on e-commerce: 40 percent of brands and retailers plan to increase investment in e-commerce relative to other channels over the next year, and 47 percent now primarily see e-commerce as a platform for discovery and brand building, not just sales.
These are just some of the findings from the first edition of our new report series “Inside Fashion & Sports E-Commerce,” by BoF Insights in collaboration with Amazon Fashion & Sports.
To inform the report, BoF Insights surveyed 10,000 European consumers across the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, as well as nearly 150 senior brand and retail leaders, and interviewed 10 industry experts and more than 10 Amazon Fashion & Sports experts, to identify the greatest opportunities in e-commerce today. We found the industry’s priorities do not always fully align with the factors customers say influence their purchase decisions.
Join us for our next BoF LIVE on Wednesday, September 16, at 15:00 BST / 10:00 EDT as the report authors, BoF Insights’ director and associate director Hannah Crump and Alexander Li, unpack the report’s key findings. Expect to learn about the major shifts reshaping e-commerce and what they mean for your strategy, including:
- Which players have the greatest influence over customers’ shopping decisions today
- How prepared the industry is for how AI is reshaping e-commerce
- What customers’ biggest pain points are when shopping online, and how this aligns with what the industry is investing in
- Why the industry needs to rethink the traditional idea of omnichannel
